It’s mandatory to justify the existence of LVRLAC through its strategic positioning in the Lake Victoria Region. Unlike other Local Government networks in the country, the position held by LVRLAC for more than 20 years has played a role of multi – tasked body that serves both the growth and efficiency of member Local government, the riparian communities and sustainability of Lake Victoria Resource.
Ambitious transfer of gains to the communities without forgetting member Local Government development as institution has call out for LVRLAC being at the center, coining co- existence of parties that think and act collectively.
The problems, challenges and opportunities posed by the Lake are today of such magnitude that they cannot be faced by the riparian states acting separately. Our challenge is to contribute to the development of a collective approach to roll back the environmental threat that hangs over the Lake and unlock the vast potential of the Lake for the benefit of the people of the region.”
